Tuscany Dreams in Lilac and Lavender

For the first quarter of the year, I was preoccupied with perfecting this wedding invitation suite for Mars. She said she's been following me on Instagram and liked my style (huhu, thank you).
The theme was Tuscany/Floral featuring shades of lilac, lavender, tiffany blue, and taupe. It was too romantic, I felt inspired and my hands just knew what to do with the paint and the brushes. For days and even months after, I can't help reaching for the purples and violets.
I thought I'd make a fun, sweeping calligraphy style for the Save The Date. Nothing formal, but something that can still stand on its own. Luckily, the bride really liked it and decided to stick with me for the rest of the suite. Whew!

Here's one variation of the entourage card that I offered her. I thought her reception venue really ties up well with the Tuscany vibes, so I painted it and featured it beneath a floral arc. Simple, understated, charming.

I call my calligraphy "hybrid Spencerian", even though I have no formal training on the actual Spencerian, LOL. I'm happy with how it turned out, especially because I spent a LOT of hours on Adobe Illustrator, painstakingly vectorizing those names.
Worth it.

Another idea that we played with is having simple line art for the entourage card. All the other cards would be bursting with the colourful florals, so maybe one card would provide respite from the riot of colours.

Eventually, we chose to go with this and I'm so glad we did! I'm so happy with how this turned out overall.
I hope you liked this design!
