We now find ourselves in the final leg of my workshop series 2016, do you believe it?! This time, I brought the Calligraphy class to my hometown, Angeles City, Pampanga.

Without even realizing it, this last workshop developed into something more special than all the previous ones I organized. I think it's the result of several things snowballing into each other:

I'm as invested in sharing and teaching the craft as I was before, but now I'm more confident in my hand writing. I continuously honed my skill and it helped me develop my techniques and realize better methods, so I was able to put together an improved teaching module. And naturally, being more exposed in the discipline, getting to be more comfortable in the tools I use, and having observed the art community longer allowed me to have more to share.

Here are the newest recruits to the addicting world of pointed pen calligraphy, engrossed with their drills. Keep practising, okay?!

One of my students, Siena, used the faux agate place "card" as a pen rest. Genius!

I always ask my students to write a quote or their favorite song lyrics at the end of the workshop. As much as a final output wraps the session up nicely, it will serve as their baseline that they can refer to, maybe a year from now, to see how much they have improved. I also show the quote that I wrote right after my own first Calligraphy lesson. Seeing how far my hand writing has come in just one year, they always get encouraged to practice, knowing it's inevitable to get better.

I thank everyone who participated in my classes this year--without you, I don't think I would have been pushed this much to keep improving. I'm also forever grateful to my husband who constantly supports me with this hobby-turned-passion, even when the online shopping bill progressively suggests he's living with a maniac. I foresee an even more productive 2017, and craftier, ever creative endeavors. Cheers!
